"Art is the Queen of all sciences communicating knowledge to all the generations of the world."
- Leonardo Da Vinci
Stone Ridge students are inspired to explore all aspects of a SR education. As part of the commitment to Goal IV - Personal Growth, students are encouraged to experience both performing and fine arts.
The art facilities can accommodate drawing/painting, photography and sculpture. The fine arts program is an essential part of giving students the freedom to express themselves in an array of mediums. Each year, the school hosts a public art show which showcases the work of all students from first grade to the fourth academic year in the Upper School.
Each year, the drama department at Stone Ridge performs large-scale dramatic presentations. From start to finish, these complete productions are carefully set, directed and performed by students in both the Middle and/or Upper Schools. Please view our recent productions.
In addition to stage plays and musicals, Stone Ridge encourages students to pursue performance art beyond the classroom. Students at Stone Ridge are also musicians, dancers, and singers, both inside and outside of the school. One of the finest examples of the musical performance is the Stone Ridge Junior Chorus. A collection of students sing the Christmas mass each year at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the Campus of The Catholic University in Washington, DC.
