More for Alumnae

Message from Head

Dear Friends and Visitors,

Catherine Ronan Karrels at LS Prize DayAs a proud alumna of Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, I can tell you firsthand how our school impacts lives. I spent twelve years of my childhood at Stone Ridge, and I gained the skills, confidence, and faith needed to reach my potential. I received an outstanding education that included hard work and self-discipline, but also allowed time for prayer and play. My girlfriends from Stone Ridge were like sisters to me, and my teachers were not only dedicated professionals but also loving role models. It is this same experience of excellence in Catholic education that Stone Ridge continues to provide for students today.

Stone Ridge provides a distinct educational experience from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. In addition to our vibrant Bethesda campus, the Network of Sacred Heart Schools connects Stone Ridge students with peers in 22 schools in the United States and 44 countries throughout the world.

Catherine Ronan Karrels at GraduationOur academic program in Lower, Middle and Upper Schools teaches students to think critically and prepares our graduates not only for college, but for meaningful lives as adults. Our belief in developing the whole person means that a Stone Ridge education involves much more than academic success. We provide an array of spiritual development opportunities, athletic and fine arts programs, and a real commitment to teaching students to be socially aware.

On behalf of the community at Stone Ridge, I am delighted to welcome you to our website. I hope that your journey through this portal will provide you with a taste of what makes Stone Ridge not only a school of excellence, but also a second home to our students and alumnae. Of course, the spirit of our school is best understood by meeting the wonderful people who comprise our community and animate our mission. Please visit us on campus to see what makes this educational experience such a unique opportunity for the young women of Maryland and the greater Washington, DC area.

Sincerely,

Catherine Ronan Karrels ’86
