Board of Trustees
Eileen C. Mayer began her three-year term as Chair of the Stone Ridge Board of Trustees on July 1, 2010. She is an alumna of the class of 1970 and had been a Trustee of the school since 2004. While on the Board, Ms. Mayer has served as Chair of the Committee on Trustees (2005-2007), Vice Chair (2007-2010), and as a member of the Head Search Committee (2006-2007). Ms. Mayer has been involved in the Alumnae Board of Stone Ridge since the late 1990s, serving as its President from 2002 to 2005. She has participated in the Fourth Academic internship week for many years, and since 2002 she has coached the Upper School Mock Trial Team, which participates in the Maryland State Bar Association mock trial competition.
Ms. Mayer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Randolph-Macon Women’s College (now known as Randolph College) and her Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, she was a member of the staff of the late United States Senator Charles McCurdy Mathias of Maryland. Ms. Mayer spent nearly twenty years as an assistant United States Attorney during which time she was responsible for prosecuting and then supervising numerous federal criminal cases. Thereafter, she served a term as Associate Deputy Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice, and held a senior position with the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Most recently, Ms. Mayer led the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service for several years. She is currently a management consultant for both business and not-for-profit clients.
