Harvey Seegers

Harvey Seegers is an Associate Professor of Practice in The Busch School of Business and Economics at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where he teaches Management courses in both the undergraduate and graduate business programs. He is an Adjunct Professor of Management in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where he teaches a course in Global Executive Leadership in its Executive MBA Program. He also teaches a graduate course in Governance Design and Transparency to seminarians and priests at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Italy.

Harvey brings to the university classroom a lifetime of academic study and practical leadership experience in strategic planning, operational management, and commercial law. His eclectic career – including service as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, the General Electric Company, and The Home Depot – has spanned many countries, industries, and organizations. From foxholes to boardrooms, he has been responsible for building and leading highly effective teams of diverse individuals, united in the pursuit of an important common mission.

Harvey holds a BA degree with distinction from the University of Virginia, an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School, and a JD degree from The Catholic University of America, where he was an Executive Editor of the Law Review. He is the recipient of two Meritorious Service Medals from the President of the United States for exemplary service to the nation while on active duty in the Marines. He is also a Member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

This is Harvey’s fifth year as a Member of the Board of Trustees at Stone Ridge and his second year of service as Chair of the Board. Harvey and his wife, Debbie, are Stone Ridge alumnae parents to their daughter, Kelly, a graduate from the Class of 2012. Kelly was awarded her BA degree with distinction from the University of Virginia in 2016 and is currently working full-time as a Reporter for the Catholic Standard, the primary news organization for the Archdiocese of Washington, DC.
