Little Hearts Admissions Process
(Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, & Kindergarten)
Our co-educational Early Childhood Program, Little Hearts, provides a strong social, emotional, and academic foundation. By incorporating the five Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education, our Program is the first exposure to a Sacred Heart education. We provide the building blocks for a lifetime of learning based on faith, intellect, service, community, and growth.
Step 1 • Learn more about Stone Ridge
Let us know of your interest in Stone Ridge by completing an inquiry form. Doing so will ensure that you receive updates regarding Stone Ridge and our application process. Once completed, you will receive a username and password via email to begin your application. Current Stone Ridge families, Faculty/Staff, and families who have previously applied to Stone Ridge: please proceed to the Admissions portal and log in using your current Stone Ridge username and password.
Step 2 • Schedule a visit
Join a member of our admissions team for an in-person tour of our Little Hearts program. While experiencing a tour, we will answer your questions in real time. Our team is eager to connect with you and learn about your child and share our school with you. Please contact Nancy Wiegand if interested.
Lower School Open House
Friday, January 7 at 8:30 am
Step 3 • Submit the application online
- Applications and all supporting materials must be submitted in order for a file to be considered complete.
Step 4 • Submit a transcript (if applicable)
Step 5 • Submit a teacher recommendation (if applicable)
- Preschool-Kindergarten: One recommendation required
- Teacher Recommendation Form (downloadable version)
- Teacher Recommendation Form (fillable version)
Step 6 • Schedule a parent interview
Once you have submitted an application, please contact Nancy Wiegand, Associate Director of Lower School Admissions, to schedule your parent interview.
Step 7 • Schedule a Discovery Day
A Stone Ridge Little Heart Discovery Day provides prospective children the opportunity to visit a Little Hearts classroom, meet faculty, participate in a developmental screening, interact during center time and visit the playground time (weather permitting) while parents will have the opportunity to meet with Sandy Gillespie, Head of Lower School. Once you have submitted your application, please contact Nancy Wiegand, Associate Director of Lower School Admissions, at 301.657.4322 ext. 1625, to schedule your visit for Saturday, January 8. either from 9:30 am -10:30 am or from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Step 8 • Admissions Decisions
Decisions will be posted on the admissions portal on Friday, March 4, 2022 after 4:00 pm.
Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, & Kindergarten
- Serving children three years to Kindergarten age
- Classroom hours 7:30 am - 3:00 pm, with aftercare available
- School open from late August to June
