Dance at Stone Ridge is offered through the Stone Ridge Afterschool CampUs Program for Kindergarten through Grade 6 and during the school day for Grades 7 and 8.
Dance for Grades 7 and 8 is designed for both our performers and our athletes. Students are able to utilize their dance technique as a tool of understanding the physical and technical skills needed to advance their development. Students engage in a range of dance activities that enhances their performance skills, creativity, and awareness of their bodies and its capabilities. Strengthen core and flexibility, balance through control of body postural alignment, coordination through awareness of surrounding and interaction with physical space, and agility through control of a range of mobility is acquired in our students’ dance education.
Stone Ridge participates in the “Rockette Experience.” Grade 8 students traveled to Radio City Music Hall in New York City. They take a jazz class with the Rockettes, participate in a Mock Audition, have a Q&A with the Rockettes, and receive a backstage tour. The day ends with dinner at the famous Ellen Stardust.
