Summer Camps & Leagues

Stone Ridge Athletics is excited offer several summer sport opportunities fro our students.  There is a camp, summer sport leagues, and the Gator Strong program. We hope you take advantage of these fun athletic summer endeavors.

Lacrosse Camp - Grades 2-7

Stone Ridge girls Lacrosse Camp

When: June 11-15, 2018
Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Who: Rising Grades 2-7 students
Where: Gator Field, Stone Ridge
             9101 Rockville Pike
             Bethesda, MD 20814
             Rain Site: Athletic Gyms
What: Lacrosse Camp
Fee: $200 - register below
Coaches: The Carr sisters: Maddie '16 and Julia '21. Maddie is a rising junior at the University of Notre Dame and Julia is a rising sophomore at Stone Ridge. Together they bring the experience of a current player in Division I college lacrosse and experience as a high school lacrosse player.

Equipment needed:

  • Cleats or turf shoes (*sneakers if moved inside to the gyms)
  • Water bottle
  • Lacrosse stick (available on site)
  • Eye goggles (available on site)
  • Mouth guard
  • Appropriate outerwear

 

Summer Basketball League - Grades 9-12

SR Athletics is very excited to once again offer the summer basketball league to interested students Grades 9-12.

Basketball games will begin the week of Monday, June 4, and continue each Monday and Wednesday throughout June (Mon 6/5, Wed 6/6, Mon 6/11, Wed 6/13, Mon 6/18, Wed 6/20, Mon 6/22, Wed 6/27). The games are hosted by various schools/gyms throughout the area including SR. In addition to the two games per week, the team is hoping to have Tuesday evening practices at SR. Last year SR was able to have tow teams, V1 & V2, so depending on level of interest we hope to have two teams again.

Finally, in an effort to help our student-athletes continue to grow stronger, improve their flexibility, increase their ability to withstand injuries, and build more cardio / stamina, as well as providing them an opportunity to be with teammates from other sports, Thursday evenings this summer we hope our basketball athletes will devote to the Gator Strong Program.

Summer Volleyball League - Grades 9-12

SR Athletics is very excited to once again offer the summer volleyball league to interested students Grades 9-12.

The Volleyball Summer League is for both JV and Varsity players who want to play together in preparation of the Fall season. All teams must have a coach and a minimum of 10 players on the roster. All players must be experienced and committed to their team. Varsity league will consist of 8 matches and the JV league will have 6 matches. The league will occur during June and July and last 7 weeks with a single elimination match during the final 8th week. Last year was our first year joining the league so we're excited for what year 2 will bring. Finally, the league is changing venues for this season to the Hong Tennis Training Center located at 19000 Woodfield Rd.; Gaithersburg, MD.  Also, varsity matches will be on Wednesdays, and JV on Thursdays. SR is planning on having one team for sure and being part of the varsity league. The league will not host matches on Wednesday, July 4 but will adjust those to Tuesday, July 3.
