Dear Stone Ridge Fathers and Friends,

Field Day 2017Please join us for our annual Father-Daughter Field Day on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. The day is packed with fun-filled activities, including relay races, balloon toss, tug-of-war, novelty games, great food, and music. All fathers or substitute fathers (adult males 20 years older than your daughter) of students in Grades 1-12 are encouraged to join in the fun. Participants are asked to show team spirit by wearing your blue or gold Field Day t-shirt, blue/gold accessories, face paint, etc. Rain or shine, please also wear appropriate athletic footwear. For those dads who have more than one daughter at Stone Ridge, please check the Field Day schedule as the event nears to plan your day and to minimize conflicts. This is a terrific afternoon of father-daughter bonding, so please consider leaving your cell phone in the car while you enjoy lunch and races with your daughter.

The Lower School and Middle School day for students starts at 8:00 am, and Field Day for all students begins at 9:00 am. Registration for fathers will begin at 10:00 am for LS Dads and 11:30 am for MS and US Dads, on the Lower School Circle.

In case of inclement weather, we have made arrangements to host an improvised indoor Field Day. Please note the changes in time on the Rain Day Schedule. The decision to follow the rain plan will be posted on the Stone Ridge website and a message will be left on the School’s main telephone number by 7:00 am.

As with all Stone Ridge competitions, on Field Day we promote sportsmanship and respect among all competitors, during all Field Day competitions, in regards to opposing team decorations, and in the closing awards ceremony.

Lower School

Lower School Details

All students (Grades 1-4) should arrive by 8:00 am. Early morning supervision begins at 7:30 am. The students should dress in their Stone Ridge Field Day t-shirt, PE shorts, socks, and sneakers. The girls can accessorize with blue/gold hair ribbons and facepaint, etc. Sun block, hat, and labeled water bottle are recommended. Bring bathing suits/towels for the LS free swim from 1:45-2:45.

Fathers/guardians arrive at 10:00-11:00 am wearing their Field Day t-shirt and register at the Registration Table located in the Lower School Circle. A point will be added to your team’s score for each father/guardian that registers. Lunch for Fathers and daughters will be available from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.

Father/Daughter races start promptly at 11:15 pm on the lower field (behind the pool). Ribbons and points will be given if you place first, second, or third place. Races for Grades 3 and 4 and Grades 1 and 2 will run concurrently on different sides of the field. Each race is run twice so that if a father has more than one daughter, he can run in both races. The girls are required to stay for all of the races and events. We will have water available for fathers. The first-aid kit and Lost & Found box will also be located under the tent.

If your daughter needs a substitute dad for Field Day, please email Physical Education teachers Kelly Donaghue or Sarah Kiernan, and one of them will make arrangements for your daughter to join another dad.

In the event of inclement weather, we will follow the Lower School rain day schedule. Please come to the gymnasium only during your school’s scheduled activity time. Lower School races begin promptly at 10:30 am.

ALL Lower School students attending Field Day must fill out the online dismissal form below so we know how your child is being picked up by 4:00 pm. Due before Friday, June 1.

Middle School

Middle School Details

All students should dress in their blue/gold Field Day tshirt, athletic shorts, socks, and athletic shoes. One point will be added to your team score for being in proper uniform, and one point for attending Field Day. An additional point will be added to your team's score for each father/guardian that registers at the registration table on the student circle. Fathers/guardians should wear their Field Day t-shirt and appropriate athletic shoes.

Each contestant should know the starting time of her events and should report promptly to the event site. If you are a first, second, or third place finisher in a race, you will receive a ribbon and points for your team. All races are conducted by grade, and some events are also grouped alphabetically by last names.

No one is allowed to leave the Middle School field until all morning events are concluded at noon. Registration for dads is from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm on the Lower School Circle. Middle School lunch begins at noon, and afternoon father-daughter activities begin at 1:00 pm. In the event of injury, a first aid station will be set up in the gymnasium training room.

In the event of inclement weather, we will proceed with an indoor Field Day and follow the MS rain day schedule. In this event, please come to the gymnasiums only during your school’s scheduled activity time. The Middle School rain day scheduled time is 11:30-2:00 pm.

Dear Parents,

All students should dress comfortably for the Field Day events (your blue/gold Field Day t-shirt is required and you should wear shorts, socks, and athletic shoes). 1 point will be added to your team’s score for attending Field Day. An additional point will be added to your team's score for each Father/Guardian that registers at the registration table located at the Lower School circle. Fathers/Guardians should wear their Field Day t-shirt as well.

The schedule for Field Day will have the Fathers/Guardians arriving to campus between 11:30-1:00 pm to register and join your daughter(s) for lunch. The Father/Daughter games will begin at 1:30 pm.
