The Barat Medal recognizes leaders who have made a significant difference and helped share the school's destiny. It is the highest honor Stone Ridge presents to any non-student of the School.

This is always such a special night as it offers a chance to gather with significant leaders in our community for a night of gratitude and celebration. Every single person gathered in this room is a Stone Ridge leader. Whether you are a parent, past parent, current or past Board member, or an employee—you have supported and strengthened Stone Ridge through your philanthropic support, your volunteerism, your intellect, your work.

One of the highlights of the annual Barat Celebration is the distribution of the Barat Award, named in honor of Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, whose vision of education was rooted in deep faith, generous service, and transformative leadership. The Barat Medal recognizes those leaders who have made a significant difference and who have helped shape the destiny of the School, and whose lives reflect the Sacred Heart mission in enduring and visible ways. It is the highest honor that Stone Ridge presents to any non-student of the School.

This year, we are thrilled to honor recipients whose devotion to our school spans generations and roles— living examples of faith, intellect, service, community, and personal growth.

JULIE DUVALL STULL ’69 

First, we honor Julie Duvall Stull, Class of 1969. Mrs. Stull is what we call a “triple threat” in the best Sacred Heart sense: she is an alumna, an alumna parent to Katie ’97, and a former staff member who served with passion as our Director of Alumnae Relations. But her impact didn’t stop there. For decades, Mrs. Stull has poured her heart into our community as a tireless volunteer on the Centennial Archive Committee, on Sacred Heart Commission on Goals (SHCOG) focus groups, the former Used Book Sale, Golf Tournament, and class reunions. She has served as a Reunion Recruiter, Reunion Ambassador, Alumnae Board President, and Development Committee Member.

She keeps in touch with her classmates regularly to keep them informed and excited about Stone Ridge, and for the past several years has spent hundreds of hours helping us to organize the school archives. Perhaps more important than these official volunteer roles,

Mrs. Stull is someone who consistently shows up. Over my 17 years as Head of School, she is one of the Stone Ridge alums who I see most often showing up for our community—whether at celebrations, events, fundraisers, liturgies, or funerals. Through the good times and the hard times, Julie is a trusted presence and steadfast support. That’s what we’re talking about when we talk about the Stone Ridge sisterhood.

Mrs. Stull and her husband Hal have been consistent supporters of the school since 1983—demonstrating a generosity not only of time, wisdom, and love, but also investment in our current philanthropic work.

Her dedication to preserving our history while also advancing our future is a beautiful embodiment of what it means to be a Sacred Heart leader.

MEGHAN ’87 AND EDDIE QUINN

Meghan, a proud alumna of the Class of 1987, has long carried the spirit of the Sacred Heart in all she does. In addition to Meghan and her sister Amanda and sister- in-law Lizzy Lamond McMurtrie, generations of Quinn, McMurtie, and Herndon women have grown up at Stone Ridge.

We are deeply honored that Mrs. Quinn carried forth the Sacred Heart tradition in her own house by enrolling her four daughters: Maggie ’17, Lucie ’19, Sam ’20, and Eloise ’25, to follow in her footsteps. Over the years, Mrs. Quinn has served as a class parent representative, a gala chair, a recruiter for reunion events, and an active volunteer and ambassador of Stone Ridge in many ways.

Eddie Quinn has embraced the Sacred Heart mission as deeply as any parent could. A devoted dad and a very experienced leader in business and educational communities, Mr. Quinn has made a lasting impact through his leadership on our Board of Trustees, where he serves as Chair of the Finance Committee. In this role, he has brought strategic insight, financial acumen, and a long-term perspective that have strengthened the school’s stability and sustainability. His guidance has been instrumental in shaping a vision for the future that is bold, responsible, and mission-aligned.

Together, the Quinns have hosted many events for the parents in their daughters’ grade levels, welcoming countless families into the Stone Ridge community and building on Goal IV. Their philanthropic support of the school has been transformative, investing consistently not only in The Stone Ridge Fund and scholarship programs but also in many galas and capital projects over the years.

In addition to their generous gifts, the Quinns have been instrumental in encouraging other families to support the mission, therefore leveraging the strength of their leadership to help Stone Ridge thrive. Beyond Stone Ridge, Mr. and Mrs. Quinn are deeply engaged in the Catholic philanthropic community, serving generously as Trustees and leaders with organizations such as the Christ Child Society, San Miguel School, and Catholic Charities—leading with faith and purpose. And anyone who knows the Quinns knows this: they are not just generous and dedicated—they’re also really fun. They both have a zest for life and a sense of humor that light up any room. Whether they’re hosting a parent social, cheering for the Gators at a game, or showing up to support a gala, they bring warmth and joy. They remind us that community is built through service and leadership, laughter, hospitality, and open hearts. ❤
