Shelton D. Higgins, Director of Facilities

In January, Shelton D. Higgins joined the Stone Ridge community as the Facilities Director. Prior to joining Stone Ridge, Mr. Higgins Higgins served as the Director of Residence Life & University Housing and as Senior Operations Specialist in Howard University’s Physical Facilities Management at Howard University. His responsibilities included leadership and direction for the business affairs and facility management for an on-campus housing community that serves over 5,000 residents. Mr. Higgins helped drive Howard University’s facilities initiatives through oversight of projects, process refinements, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, management of union and non-union contracted employees, and the development of training materials to support his team’s growth. Before joining Howard University, Mr. Higgins served his Alma Mater, Shaw University, as Senior Facilities Officer with responsibility for facility operations and management. There, he built on his experience gained during his time at the Precision Consulting Group and his nearly decade-long tenure at the Eaton Corporation, to become an integral part of the team responsible for planning, developing, and operationalizing the University’s physical infrastructure. Mr. Higgins earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He is a proud Jamaican, a golf enthusiast, and the devoted father of two daughters: Madison, a college sophomore, and Olivia, Grade 6, an aspiring Olympic ice skater.
