Parenting With Purpose
Parent Education at Stone Ridge
As we launch this Goal II school year, we are thinking not only about education for our students, but also about learning and growth within our parent community. We are committed to supporting parents throughout their student’s journey by providing a range of meaningful information, resources, and experiences. Throughout the year, you will hear about programs tailored to your child’s division or grade level through your division and class communication channels. This year, we are bringing our all-school parent education events together under the banner “Parenting with Purpose.” Parenting with Purpose will offer families practical tools, expert insights, and opportunities for shared reflection on the topics shaping student life today.

AI, Agency, and the Future of Learning
Wednesday, October 21 | Mater Center
7:00–8:30 p.m.
Light Refreshments beginning at 6:30 p.m.
How are young people really using AI — and how can we help them use it thoughtfully, confidently, and well?
Parents and educators are warmly invited to attend this free event hosted by Stone Ridge in partnership with WISIT and DC Project Zero.
We’ll be joined by Carrie James, Beck Tench, and Dan Be Kim from the Center for Digital Thriving at Harvard Graduate School of Education for an honest, research-grounded conversation about what young people are actually saying and thinking about AI.
The Conversation
Together, we’ll explore why an agency-based approach to AI literacy matters right now — and what that can look like in practice.
How do we move beyond simply teaching young people what AI is, toward helping them make thoughtful choices about when, why, and how to use it?
The evening will offer an opportunity for parents and educators to consider how we can help young people develop the judgment, confidence, and agency they need to navigate an AI-shaped world.
Q&A with Stone Ridge Educators
The evening will include a Q&A featuring the guest speakers and members of the Stone Ridge faculty and staff.
